Description: POP promotes the United States Preventative Services Task Force’s recommendation that everyone 15-65 years old be screened annually for HIV. By screening everyone as part of routine care instead of targeting certain individuals, clinics can increase the number of people who are diagnosed early, reduce stigma and bias surrounding the disease, and effectively link people to care and services.
Purpose: Integrate HIV screening with general health screenings, reframing HIV as a chronic health condition like diabetes or hypertension. Coach providers to naturally offer an HIV screening and comfortably give screening results.
Timeline: Requires a twelve-month engagement.
Process: Leads care teams through three modules, using videos that feature members of real care teams, followed by interactive presentations and supported by promotional materials.
