Alliance Program Intern – Action Camp Fundraising
PHIMC is seeking an intern to support fundraising and community engagement efforts for Action Camp, our largest youth leadership convening. Action Camp is a 5-day sleepaway camp that brings together youth leaders from Gender and Sexualities Alliance (GSAs) and youth groups across the state to build leadership skills, connect with one another, and strengthen the safer schools movement. The intern will help expand support for Action Camp by engaging potential sponsors and donors, supporting fundraising and outreach efforts, and creating compelling content that highlights the camp’s impact and the transformative experiences of participating youth.

Next Generation Wellness Network Intern
The Next Generation Wellness Network (NextGen) builds organizational capacity to support youth in Chicago. Comprised of community-based organizations, institutions, and youth service providers, NextGen serves as the Chicago hub for a statewide program of Regional Substance Use Prevention Integration Centers (RSUPIC), integrating new and existing substance use prevention strategies through collaboration, training, and support to improve the overall health and well-being of youth.
This internship offers an opportunity to gain experience in substance use prevention, community engagement, and project management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to equity, decarceration, and public health, along with strong skills in communication, organization, and collaboration. Candidates should feel comfortable engaging with diverse communities, managing multiple tasks, and working with both data and people.

Community Health Worker Programs Intern
The Opioid-Impacted Family Support Program (OIFSP) Expansion is a workforce development initiative that strengthens the community health workforce by expanding apprenticeship opportunities for Community Health Workers (CHWs) serving opioid-impacted individuals and families. The Campaign to Advance the Community Health Worker (CHW) Workforce is a statewide initiative that expands awareness of the Community Health Worker profession, supports CHW certification, and strengthens the integration of CHWs into healthcare, public health, and community-based organizations across Illinois.
The CHW Intern supports implementation of the Illinois Campaign to Advance the Community Health Worker (CHW) Workforce and the Opioid-Impacted Family Support Program (OIFSP) Expansion. The intern plays a key role in expanding outreach efforts by helping to organize community events, distributing educational materials, engaging prospective CHWs and employers, maintaining outreach databases, supporting grant reporting, and assisting with marketing and social media activities. They may also help analyze community needs using Health Prism data and provide administrative support for meetings, training, and program coordination.
