On March 11, PHIMC celebrated 20 years of Chicago Health Corps (CHC) AmeriCorps program, a local branch of the National Health Corps, along with partners Erie Family Health Center and Chicago Public Schools. The partners gathered at Johnson School of Excellence, an Academy for Urban School Leadership school that serves the North Lawndale community. They were there to mark this anniversary by observing CHC members Mayra Miranda and Woudnesh Yilma in action. Mayra and Woudnesh serve as health educators at Erie and were teaching a class of 6-year olds how to brush their teeth.
