At PHIMC, we recognize April as Second Chance Month, a time to elevate awareness, deepen understanding, and reaffirm our commitment to individuals navigating reentry. This observance highlights the vital role of health and community-based social service providers in creating meaningful opportunities and expanding pathways for those returning to their communities.
We acknowledge the complex barriers that individuals who are justice-impacted face following incarceration, and we remain steadfast in our belief that everyone deserves a second chance. At PHIMC, this belief is grounded in a broader vision of transformation, one that supports not only individual growth and healing, but also advances health and community support systems that are more equitable, responsive, and just.
Through our continued work, we strive to create and support systems where second chances are not only possible, but transformative, strengthening individuals, families, and communities.
Thank you to all who shared photos during our 2026 Illinois Reentry Conference. These are only a few of the fabulous photos we received.
