Thank you to all who joined us for PHIMC’s Fall Reception: All in for Public Health on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Not only did we enjoy your company for a “lovely evening honoring partnership, community, and progress towards compassionate, affirming, and racially equitable public health systems and practice” – in the words of Alliance Program Director Julio Flores – but we also exceeded our fundraising goal, and raised more than $10K right there in the room! We truly witnessed the power of partners and allies who are all in for public health.

“This evening celebrates the power of collaboration among many organizations fighting for Public Health in Illinois, and we are so excited to have many of those agencies and organizations here this evening. Thank you all for your support!” ~ Casey Horton, PHIMC Board President

We were also fortunate to hear from Motivational Speaker, Storyteller, and Author Derrick Loyd about his Beloved Aunt Pam, in a story of forgiveness, healing, and grace.

All in for Public Health celebrated the power of collaboration among nonprofits, community organizations, government agencies, and institutions championing community-driven solutions to public health challenges. Funds raised will fuel HIV prevention and care, behavioral health, school and community wellness, gender-affirming services, support for justice-impacted individuals, and affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ youth.

“As a queer Latino man and a proud son of immigrant parents, this work is deeply — not only personal to me, but — meaningful to me. These programs are lifelines for people who look like me, who grew up like us, who faced the barriers our families have faced, and serving LGBT Latine and immigrant communities through partnerships like this is something I hold with great pride.” ~ Alfredo Flores, Associate Director of Operations at CALOR, overseeing collaborative efforts for TGD and RIG 8 initiatives

Thank you again to all who joined us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the wins in our joint efforts for health equity and justice!
