On Sunday, September 23, 2018, Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago (PHIMC) staff and supporters joined approximately 2,500 HIV advocates,
survivors, and community leaders to attend the AIDS Run & Walk Chicago. The AIDS
Run & Walk Chicago is AIDS Foundation of Chicago’s (AFC) annual fundraising event for programs that decrease stigma and raise awareness about the epidemic and support healthcare and services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Congratulations to AFC for hosting a successful event at Soldier Field. We want to thank all of our supporters who walked with us on Sunday and/or donated to our team! It was PHIMC’s first year hosting a team for the AIDS Run & Walk and we are grateful for the amount of support that we received to get to this point.
Even though the walk is over, our fundraising efforts are not. We have currently raised $7,167 and are 29% away from reaching our team goal of $10,000. As a Community
Direct partner, 90% of the funds we raise directly support our programs and partners
that serve people at risk of or are living with HIV/AIDS. Please consider making a donation to our fundraising campaign before the deadline closes November 15,
2018.
We truly appreciate of any level of support to help us promote health equity and increase access to care for marginalized populations. Click here to learn more about Team PHIMC and to support our cause.
