Each year, Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) leads a collaboration of local and state partners in the annual Walk for Recovery as a part of September’s National Recovery Month. On Saturday, September 16, 2017, CDPH will host the 14th Annual Substance Abuse Recovery Walk under the theme: “Strengthening Families and Communities”. Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago (PHIMC) is proud to co-sponsor the event along with Illinois Association of Extended Care (IAEC), Illinois Department of Human Services’ Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (IDHS-DASA), and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), in conjunction with the behavioral health, substance abuse, and recovery community across Chicago.
