In October 2015, the Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago (PHIMC) named Jennifer Epstein as Deputy Director of Programs. “We are very excited to welcome Jenny to PHIMC,” says Executive Director Karen Reitan. “Her experience and leadership will increase PHIMC’s program portfolio and strengthen our ability to create public health systems that improve the lives of people in need.”
As Deputy Director of Programs, Jennifer Epstein provides oversight and management of PHIMC’s program portfolio. In this role, she strengthens the work of PHIMC’s programs and joins with the executive team in leading the organization. Before joining PHIMC, Ms. Epstein was Project Director of Healthy Lifestyles Initiative and Health Disparities Initiative at EverThrive Illinois responsible for strategy and fund development. She served as a Public Health Prevention Service Fellow with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Baltimore City Health Department from 2010-2013. The majority of her professional work has been with non-profit organizations, focusing on public health and community development domestically and internationally. Ms. Epstein earned a Masters of Science in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a concentration in community development and Bachelor of Arts from Macalester College.
