In October 2014, the Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago (PHIMC) named Blair Harvey, Deputy Director of Strategy and Partnerships. “Blair is such a wonderful addition to the PHIMC team,” says Executive Director Karen Reitan. “She brings a fresh perspective, expands our network, and deepens our strategy in tackling critical public health challenges. I look forward to expanding the Institute with her as a partner.”
Blair is responsible for cultivating and forging partnerships to diversify and strengthen PHIMC’s leadership role, identifying and implementing innovative strategies to improve public health infrastructure, and integrating new heath and wellness initiatives into the organization’s portfolio. Blair also oversees organizational communications including development and implementation of a communications strategy to increase PHIMC’s visibility and highlight its expertise across public health systems, settings, and stakeholders.
Prior to joining PHIMC, Blair was Assistant Director in the Office of Student Health and Wellness at Chicago Public Schools (CPS). She directed the Student Health Department that aimed to improve the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of student health programs and services. She was responsible for increasing student access to preventative and primary health services through policy and program implementation.
